They participate in detailed training and studies of every aspect of the documentary making process, and at each stage they follow this training with a corresponding production task. There is a daily tutorial of three hours, followed by three hours of production tasks (done in groups)\nParticipants will be assessed on a continual basis, and will receive feedback on every task they do. At the end of their studies and production of the film, participants will receive a final written assessment and written reference from OTOXO Productions, detailing their activities and responsibilities as co-director in the production.\nThe OTOXO Productions tutors are both Spanish speakers but also native English speakers. So, every summer, we give a group of individuals the opportunity to co-direct a series of social&nbsp;&amp; cultural documentary shorts with OTOXO Productions. Simultaneously, participants receive&nbsp;an intensive month-long training course on the theory and practice behind the process. The tutorials that the participants receive during the course correspond directly to the phase of production that they are about to undertake. Participants are trained in a certain skill and immediately put that new skill into practice.\n\nIn addition to three hours of daily tutorials, all participants undertake a minimum of three hours of production tasks, five days a week, for four weeks. For those looking to make even more of the experience, there will be extra tasks available at weekends as well. What makes this work is the fact that the course is tied into a real production. While it would be impossible for you to ask for donations to help you go to film school or attend a documentary studies course, it is much more reasonable to ask people and organisations to donate towards the making of a film about important social issues.\n\n[toggle]\n\nTo facilitate the fundraising process, we provide interested participants with a promotional brochure about the production and the film. Participants who choose to get involved in fundraising will be working independently, but we will provide guidance and support wherever possible.\n\nAfter the selection process, selected candidates pay a deposit of 350 euros (non-refundable) to confirm their place in the production. In terms of the balance of 900 euros, there are a number of ways for participants to pay. If necessary, in most cases payments can be made in instalments in the build up to the programme. But you absolutely do not need experience or previous studies in film to apply.&nbsp;What you do need is creativity, imagination, dedication, focus and determination.
