Above & Below

Often seen as a closed Catalan tradition, the world of human castles seems like an unlikely place for a shy canadian erasmus student, just trying to get a bit of local culture out of his six months abroad. Being a Casteller requires strength on all levels and the margin for error is minute. Above and Below follows Antoine’s journey into this fascinating world and examines how all kinds of connections – physical, mental and cultural – need to be forged between the Castellers de la Vila de Gracia as they attempt their most demanding tower of the season.
